Meet Janicke: Why I bet on CatalystOne and never looked back

Janicke didn’t plan to end up in tech, but she’s now been thriving as a Sales Executive at CatalystOne for over seven years. After starting her career helping people through sick leave, conflict, and challenging workplace situations, she made a shift toward something more positive and forward-looking. Enter CatalystOne.
“I stumbled into the IT industry by chance,” she says, “but I immediately fell in love with the culture, the people, and the product. Once I understood the impact we have on organisations, I was sold.”
💼 What does your day-to-day look like?
“No two days are the same,” says Janicke. Her work revolves around customers, both potential and current and she thrives in a fast-paced, people-first environment.
Whether she’s handling customer meetings, fielding questions about functionality or implementation, responding to formal requirements, or simply picking up the phone for a quick check-in, her focus is always clear: help companies make confident decisions about their HR systems.
💡 What makes the work meaningful?
Without hesitation, Janicke answers: “The people.”
It’s not just about her colleagues, although she says she works with “the best sales team in the world”. It’s also about the customers and the journey they take. “I always feel proud when I attend project closures and see how far a customer has come since we first spoke. That’s when I really see the impact of what we do.”
📈 Growth, grit, and gutta-stemning
Janicke credits her growth to a strong, open, and sometimes playfully competitive team dynamic. “There’s a bit of a ‘guttastemning’ vibe in the sales team, and it suits me perfectly. We’re open with each other, we challenge each other, and we all want to improve.”
She’s not only grown in her role, she’s also served over 4 years on CatalystOne’s board, helping shape the company's strategy. “That’s been a huge boost,” she adds. “And having a small ownership stake in the company? That just deepens the commitment. You’re all in.”
🏅 Proudest moment?
There’s no single one but the highlights are clear. “Watching customers achieve the vision they had when they chose CatalystOne… that gets me every time.”
Oh, and one other thing. “I’m still proud I survived a match of Kabaddi — an Indian wrestling game against 6 or 8 of my Indian male colleagues. Speed saved me. Strength… not so much,” she laughs.

When she’s off duty, you might find Janicke skiing in Hafjell, spending time with friends and family, or soaking up summer sun. She’s a self-declared food and wine enthusiast (as long as someone else is doing the cooking) 😉
