🚀 From Implementations to Innovation: Karolina Gardner's Journey of Growth
“I wanted new challenges, but I also wanted to stay at CatalystOne because of the people, the flexibility, and the autonomy. There’s a lot to love here.”
After almost four years as a HCM Solution Consultant & Project Manager, Karolina is taking on an exciting new chapter: moving into the role of Product Manager. 🌱
Her journey is a great example of how CatalystOne encourages internal growth and creates space for people to explore new challenges, without leaving behind the culture they love.
đź’Ľ What does your day-to-day look like?
No two days are the same in Karolina’s world. Her role has been all about working closely with customers during implementation projects: running workshops, facilitating meetings, and ensuring each organisation gets the most out of their new HR solution.
“I usually spend my days balancing meetings, preparing sessions, and collaborating with colleagues. The most exciting and challenging part is definitely the people. Every project has its own dynamics and culture. Even though the product is the same, the journey is always different.”
🧩 Building Skills That Last
Working across so many customer projects has sharpened Karolina’s communication and facilitation skills. “You meet so many different types of people, all with their own ways of learning and sharing information,” she explains.
That experience, along with deep product knowledge, is exactly what prepared her for her next step: Product Management.
“My role has helped me understand how our customers use the product, what their needs are, and where we fit in their overall system landscape. That’s a great foundation to build on.”
đź’ˇ Advice for Future Consultants
Karolina is quick to offer reassurance for anyone stepping into her shoes.
“You don’t need to know everything to begin with. You have a great team to spar with, and you’ll bring your own experience too. Be curious and open, you’ll learn so much.”
Working with Absence Management has been one of her favourite areas, partly because of its complexity. “It’s a field that’s very country-specific and detail-heavy. If you like structure and problem-solving, you’ll love it.”
🌟 What Makes This Role Special
What Karolina enjoys most isn’t just the customer work, it’s the culture.
“The people at CatalystOne are really so great. We help each other, we cheer for each other’s development, and we always make time to collaborate.”
She also appreciates the flexibility and autonomy that come with the role. “There’s little micromanagement here — you’re trusted to get things done your way. That makes a big difference.”
❤️ Why CatalystOne
Karolina originally joined CatalystOne because she was excited about the product and methodology. Four years later, that enthusiasm has only grown.
“I joined because it seemed like a great place to work, and I was right. I stay because there’s still so much to learn.”
Her move into Product Management is a natural next step, but it’s also a reflection of the company’s belief in growth from within. “We really support each other’s development but you also have to drive it yourself. That’s what makes it so rewarding.”
🌱 Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, Karolina leads a busy (and fun!) life with her two teenage kids and a big social circle. And here’s something you might not expect, she’s a competitive cheerleader!📣
“I joined a team of parents a few years ago. Now we train more than our kids and sometimes even compete against them! It’s such a fun challenge to learn a whole new sport at this age.”
đź’« Final Thoughts
Karolina’s story shows what CatalystOne is all about: growth, curiosity, and community.
She’s moving into a new role, but her spirit, energy, and love for learning perfectly capture what makes working at CatalystOne so rewarding.
